About

  Mission

At Lemery House Press, we publish stories that stay with you — the kind that echo long after the last page or final line. Whether it’s a children’s book that sparks imagination, a memoir that preserves lived experience, or a theatrical work that finds new life on stage or in voice, our mission is rooted in honoring story as legacy. Everything we do — from Dreamtime Illustrations to True Voice Shorts — is connected by a belief in the power of storytelling to preserve memory, deepen empathy, and give voice to what matters. We don’t aim to publish everything. We aim to publish what endures.

“You can learn to do anything, if you can read.” -Lulu G. Lemery

Querida Funck is the founder and creative force behind Lemery House Press. A voice actor, writer, and lifelong storyteller, she brings together decades of experience in narration, theater, and independent publishing to create works that blend artistry with meaning. Querida’s passion lies in preserving stories — those passed down, rediscovered, or reframed — and giving them new life in print, on stage, and through voice.   Through her imprints Dreamtime Illustrations and True Voice Shorts, she curates a small, intentional catalog of books and audiobooks that reflect the power of memory, imagination, and legacy. Lemery House Press isn’t just a publishing venture — it’s a home for stories worth keeping.

Lemery House Press began long before it had a name — in songs written for the stage, scripts passed around in community theaters, and the quiet power of a mother’s voice at bedtime. Querida’s mother, Lulu G. Lemery, was an artist and a poet who believed deeply in books, imagination, and the freedom that comes from learning. She often told her children, “You can learn to do anything, if you can read.” That simple truth became the foundation not only for Querida’s creative life, but for the publishing work that would one day follow.   Across every format — from stage to studio to printed press — Lemery House Press remains rooted in the belief that story is a legacy, and voice is how we carry it forward. Each imprint — from stage to page, from spoken word to printed line — is united under Lemery House Press, a home for stories that endure. And through it all, the mission remains simple and clear:

  Read. Listen. Remember.
